Canals & Rivers Trust Council Candidate
This tab brings together the various posts on the subject of the Canals & River Trust (C&RT) Council Elections being held on Feb / March 2012.
After years of debate British Waterways will pass away in April 2012 to be replaced by the new Canals & River Trust. The structure of this new body will include a Council comprising all the interested parties who have a stake in the success of the new charity, a sort of an aquatic version of the National Trust.
This council will have 35 members of which four will be elected representatives of the boating community, with the first Council meeting taking place on 28th March and six monthly thereafter.
The election timetable is as follows:
- Nominations: 12th December to 18th January
- Voting: 6th February to 9th March
- Results: 12th March
