Warsaw Old Town

Warsaw Old Town
April 2012

The Warsaw Old Town is the honeypot for tourists, but its interest lies more in its history than what you actually see today.

Warsaw Old Town

What you see is a modern reconstruction of a medieval market town, built with a painstaking eye to detail by the people of Waraw from the rubble left behind by the retreating German Army.

Just the foundations are original

There are virtually nothing left of the place and its no small miracle that the Old Town exists at all.

Market Square - Warsaw Old Town

The old market square is a favourite place to eat drink and relax - and it has a rather beautuful atmosphere all of its own.

I will let the photo's do the talking.
